Hogmany – 31st December 2012 at Ruach
(playing the dice and parcel game a traditional game now at our annual Hogmanay party – more of this another time…..)
Each year Mary and I have an open door on Hogmany and have have a time of fellowship with friends and family. This time consists of some homemade games and then at Midnight we all wish each other a Happy New Year for 2013 – the year ahead. In the last few years I have then taken the opportunity to share a few thoughts about the year gone and the hear to come!
This year I felt inclined to share a song which I had heard Alison Krauss sing at a concert Mary and I attended earlier in the year. But this was not to be as I had a very bad throat on the evening so I decided to review the year in photos and also use a Youtube version of Alison performing the song (much better than I could do on a good day in any case!!!!)
So find below two linked videos – first my 2012 review with a vocal commentry and second the song “There is a reason” by Alison Krauss.
Of course the review wording is not an exact rendition of what I said on the evening as that was very interactive with inputs form the company present! But I have tried to capture the essessence of what I said 😉
The key theme here is actually about Gods faithfulness as experienced by those who know and follow his teachings as set out in the Bible.
Now enjoy listening to Alison Krauss singing “There is a Reason”
Thanks for Bipolar for Jesus for publishing the above video on Youtube…. http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCs7FvJMwwRhynmu_PWhbXMg
