Waiting to board flight from Dubai International at the moment. See below this has to be the most impressive terminal I have past through. See below this is just the front door to the place where the taxi drops you off!!! Once in side the scale of everything is enormous. It has on the one building over 300 gates!!!
I am working in the Cisco Dubai office today again. Since there are no meetings planned I have taken residence at a “virtual desk” which is actually a real desk which is setup for visiting workers. I will be working here all day and then heading for the airport for my flight back to the UK which is scheduled to depart at 2.40am local time ;-(
Hopefully, I will be able to sleep on the plane and arrive in the UK fairly refreshed. I then land at Gatwick then after a short break I fly onward to Aberdeen and home. I am expecting that there will still be some snow around in Kemnay when I get back 😉 The following picture shows the view from the office window here – not surprisingly we look out on a building site – an all too common sight in Dubai.
A few posts ago I published a few photos from my Dubai trip. On route back to the UK I also visited Baku to catchup on some work there. You can see some more photos of Dubai and a few from Baku – Azerbaijan click here
Tonight, I fly out to my next destination – at 1.ooam!!! We decided to relax and take a walk in the “cool” of the evening!!! The view of the Gulf made it well worthwhile, see below.
When we arrived at our destination about 30min later – walking on the sand is harder then I recalled 😉 We did stick to the we part but it was still hard work – but very enjoyable. I think the temp would have been around 28 degrees!!!!
Here is me at our destination – looking rather damp!!!! Very enjoyable though!!!! I really do need to get a bit fitter!!!
After an overnight flight from the UK I am in Dubai for meeting over the next two days. My flight from Aberdeen to Manchester was delays and I had a short connection time which was a bit worrying for a time. However, the terminal transfer bus took me directly to the departure gate even though I did not have a boarding pass. So I did not even need to queue to enter the boarding area!! A bonus for sure.
This is my first trip to Dubai – it is impressive with all the new building that is taking place. and of course the Burj Tower which dominates the spyscape. I hope to get a photo of the tower later on! Here is the link to the official Burj Tower web site
