On a business trip to Riyadh for a couple of days. Nice to travel again after a long spell at home. I am here for two days and nights then on to Dubai on Tuesday evening.
Started with traditional Saudi Coffee and then the meal peoper.
Went out for traditional Saudi meal with colleagues this evening – very nice – see above – bed of rice topped with boiled eggs, some peppers, spaghetti and lamb. Set on the floor and 4 /5 people sit around the platter and eat with fingers only!!!

Confirmation of the situation concerning the Christmas tree 😉
note what Phil is up to with the Christmas tree in the back ground which was indeed standing there quite erect until Phil entered its proximity 😉
The following photo was taken on Christmas Day 2009, it shows Grandma and Granda and almost all of their grandchildren and partners.
Progress on the garage project has definitely been affected by the snowy weather we have experience over the Chritmas and New Year period. However I did achieve my objective of getting the roof trusses and ladders erected and secured. The following photo shows the current state of play – the first photo show the first ladder being fixed in place that was done on Hogmanay! As you can see we had a very good spell of weather for this with blue skies and sunshine.
The second shows the weather today – 2nd January as you can see no further progress has been made – as you would expect but you can also see that there has been more show – in fact I estimate about 3 inches since about 5am this morning!!!!! It was raining at that point when I looked out!
I am now due to travel for work purposes for the next two weeks so I realistically don’t expect to have much progress to report during that period. However, the next milestone is to have the block work completed which hopefully can be done by my builder when I am on my travels.
This is my own first post of 2010. So firstly can I wish everyone who reads this a very happy and prosperous New Year.
